You love your Trooper. But when it's time, it's time. So why not use the best, most efficient, most effective method to sell your Trooper. The internet.
When you put your Trooper up for sale using the internet, it's better in a number of ways compared to traditional advertising. For example, when you place an internet ad, it's good until your Trooper is sold. In other words, you don't have to renew your advertisement every week. You only pay once, too.
Another big advantage is pictures: you can place many pictures of your Trooper "out there" so potential buyers can see what they are getting for their money.
A third advantage of internet advertising is that not only do you receive local coverage for your ad; you get nationwide (and sometimes worldwide) coverage. How does this happen? Well, you place your ad locally, through your local newspaper or auto magazine. Then other outlets, such as national news sources like MSN may pick up your ad and run it in their ad sections. Other auto magazines may also pick up your ad. So that's how it works.
A fourth advantage is that with internet advertising, you can almost write a book about your Trooper. In other words, there is plenty of space to write a long-winded description about your Trooper and no one is going to penalize you or charge you more for it.
When you consider selling your Trooper, think about the pictures you can take of it. Take some good side views, front views, under-the-hood views, and interior shots. Most of us have image editing tools on our PCs, so you can crop, color correct, and enhance your photos before publishing them on the web.
Also consider what you are going to say about your Trooper. In addition to telling potential buyers what a great vehicle it is for towing, off-roading, and urban cruising, also tell them about all of the things you have done to maintain your Trooper. If you have maintenance records, they can help you remember what you did. In fact mention that you have the maintenance records - it's a selling point. Also mention an extended warranty, if you have one, because for a small fee, many extended warranties can be transferred to a new owner - another selling point.
Before taking pictures of your Trooper and before anyone comes to look at it or test drive it, make sure it is clean inside and out. Wash it and polish or wax the exterior. Clean the tires and rims. Vacuum the carpet and upholstery. Clean the glass and mirrors.
Also make sure everything works. Check all of the switches and lights, check the oil (change it if it needs changing), and make sure all fluids are at their proper levels. Of course if there are more involved repairs that need to be done, like a new muffler or brakes, make sure all of that is done.
All of these things that you can do will undoubtedly help sell your Trooper. So now that you've decided to sell, there is plenty to do.
